Anthony Burgos

Anthony Luis Burgos, age 70, of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 at 5:33pm. Anthony was born August 20, 1951 in Ponce, Puerto Rico. He attended Brooklyn Tech prior to receiving an Associate’s Degree from New York University. Anthony was a resident of Lakewood, NJ for over 40 years. Anthony had a 45 year career in Computer Operations from 1973 to 1988 at Time Magazine before retiring from Namura in 2018. Anthony was a beloved Basketball Coach and referee for the Lakewood Community league in Lakewood, NJ. He also was an avid fisherman and howler. He met his wife Michelle in 1972 and married on June 15, 1973. From that union brought a family of five children: Kimu, Phillip, Keith, Bryan, and Anthony; and four adapted sons: Carmelle,Ronnell, Mike, and Pete; One Daughter: Latisha Credle; Three Godsons: Donald, Duane Hughes and Javon Burris; One Goddaughter: Khadijah Burris; Ten grandchildren: Jamia, Jasmine, Javan, Jaden, Kimu Jr, Tyler, Jocelyn, Be'Jhion, Queen and Asili, and one great grandchild: Fallon; Five-Daughters-In-Law: Rachel, Latia, Dasha, Shondell, and Jennifer and a host of family and friends. He was preceded by his father, Pepe Luis Burgos, and his brother George. Relatives and friends will be received on Monday, March 28, 2022 from 3:00 to 7:00pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave, Lakewood, NJ 08701. A eulogy and words of comfort will be offered at 6:00pm in the funeral home.
