Anthony P. Gioe

Anthony P. Gioe, 91, passed away February 28, 2017 at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Mr. Gioe was a lifelong resident of Elizabeth before settling in Brick for the past 15 years. He served in the US Military during World War II. Anthony worked as a machinist his entire life and later he was the owner/operator of a Christmas Tree Farm and Tioga Farms in Lakewood for many years. Mr. Gioe was a skilled wood craftsman and was an avid baseball fan, especially for his beloved Mets. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Gioe is predeceased by his wife Colette, son, Thomas and sister, Carmella “Millie” Musso. Anthony is survived by his children, Michael Gioe and his wife MaryAnn, Joseph Gioe and his wife Shirlyn, Anthony Gioe Jr. and his wife Mary and Mary Anodide and her husband Clement, 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 3, 2017 at 10AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia, NJ.
