

Arthur L. Thompson Sr., born September 23rd, 1954, passed away tragically on June 20th, 2025 following a bicycle accident, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and technical excellence. Arthur grew up in Brooklyn, New York, where he attended Saint Ambrose Catholic School. He later continued his education at Chelsea CTE High School in Manhattan, specializing in electronics—a passion that would shape the course of his life.
After exploring architecture at City College, Arthur found his calling in technology through a Manpower Program, where he honed the technical skills that would define his professional journey. He began his long and accomplished career at Savin Corporation and concluded it with his retirement from Atlantic Tomorrow’s Office, dedicating over 40 years to the industry. Even in retirement, Arthur remained a helpful presence to those in need, always willing to lend his expertise.
Arthur's personal life was marked by deep family connections. He was the proud father of two children, Tamica Nicole Thompson and Arthur Lloyd Thompson Jr., with whom he maintained a strong and loving bond throughout his life. Later, he found love again and married his wife, Toni, who remained by his side for over 41 years.
A man of many interests, Arthur enjoyed handball, table tennis, and computer-building. He was an avid player of military video games and, more recently, took up scooter and bike riding—activities that brought him joy and freedom in his later years.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents Frederick and Louise Thompson, his siblings, Frederick Thompson Jr., Edward Thompson, and Louise Thompson. Arthur was survived by his beloved wife Toni, his children, Tamica and Arthur Jr, his brothers, Gregory Thompson and John Thompson, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He will be remembered for his generous spirit, technical brilliance, and unwavering devotion to his family.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at D’Elia Funeral Home, located at 1300 Vermont Avenue (Route 70 & Vermont Avenue), Lakewood, NJ 08701. The viewing will take place from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Prayer Service from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM. All are welcome to join us in celebrating the life of this remarkable man.
