Born in Staten Island, she resided there for most of her life before settling in the Homestead Run community of Toms River in 1995.
Betty was an animal lover who adopted shelter dogs throughout her life, but she had a special place in her heart for Missy, a Labrador mix. She also loved vacationing – especially cruising. Betty enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, and trips to Atlantic City, where she enjoyed gambling. While living in Staten Island, she was a member of the Woodrow Methodist Church.
More than anything else, she loved her family. From the everyday occasion to the special family events, Betty was also there. Spending time with those she loved meant happiness and continued cherished memories, even in times of her own illness.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Eugene in 1966, and by her second husband, Russell in 2016.
Surviving are her children: Robert (Kathy), Edward (Karen), and Patricia Sattler; 9 grandchildren: Robert, Louis, Jamie, Jessica, Vanessa, Tara, Erika, Jeanene & Rachael; and 9 great-grandchildren: Haley, Jaiden, Jayden, Morgan, Ayvah, Isabella, Kylie, Kamryn & Chloe.
A private cremation was held under the direction of D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood. For more information, or to post a tribute online, please visit www.deliafuneralhome.com.
