

Bruno was born on April 15, 1921 in Brunn, Czechoslovakia. He was the son of the late Hermine and Gustav Petricek. He came to the United States as a child with his family and settled in Clifton, NJ. He was a First Lieutenant with the US Army Air Corps during World War II. Prior to his retirement, Bruno was a Textile Engineer and a partner in the firm United Wool Piece Dyeing and Finishing Company in Passaic, NJ. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Passaic, NJ, where he served on the Church Council. He later joined Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting, NJ. He enjoyed nature and was an enthusiastic gardener. Bruno maintained his interest in aviation throughout his lifetime. As an avid bowler, Bruno was a member of the Fairways Bowling League and other local Lakewood, NJ leagues. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Andree; two children, Allen B. Petricek and his wife Debbie, and Dr. Gail L. Petricek and her wife Patricia O’Keefe; and two nephews, Dr. William Tuttle and John Tuttle. Bruno was the brother of the late Edel V. Tuttle. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Christ Lutheran Church, 40 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting, NJ 08759. Burial will follow in the Laurel Grove Memorial Park, 295 Totowa Road, Totowa, NJ 07512.
