Camellus A. Cappelluzzo, known affectionately to his friends and family as Todd Cappy, age 96, of Toms River, NJ passed away on Thursday October 11, 2018. Todd was born July 12, 1922 in Brooklyn, NY. He was raised and was a longtime resident of Brooklyn, NY, before moving to the Lake Ridge section of Toms River, NJ 22 years ago. Todd served with distinction in the US Army, and he was both a Pearl Harbor survivor and veteran of the Battle of Guadalcanal. Todd was a skilled boxer while in the Army. He was a retired roofer. Todd enjoyed visiting Atlantic City, NJ. Husband of the late Genevieve Cappelluzzo, he is survived by his son, Dennis of Toms River, NJ; a granddaughter, Carly Cappelluzzo; and two sisters, Anne DeSarle and Irene Scuppallette both of Brooklyn, NY. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be celebrated 9:15 a.m. Wednesday in St. Luke's Church, 1674 Old Freehold Road, Toms River, NJ 08755. Burial will follow in BG William C.
