

Carlos M. Bovell, 65, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Carlos was born in Manhattan, NY and lived in Long Island and the Bronx before settling in Lakewood, NJ. He was a supervisor for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for 25 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Anthony Claret Church in Lakewood. He also volunteered for the food pantry in Toms River for many years. During his life, he enjoyed playing basketball, handball, Latin Jazz, was a hard worker and especially loved his Spanish food. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. He was predeceased by his son, Eric. Carlos is survived by his wife of 46 years, Martha; two sons, Carlos Bovell and his wife Jen, and Gil Bovell and his wife Amanda; six grandchildren; and step aunt, Gloria Ramos and her husband Luis. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 13, 2012 at the Ocean County Memorial Park Chapel, 1722 Silverton Road, Toms River. The Repass will be immediately following in the Buckingham Hall at the Leisure Village, 17 Buckingham Drive, Lakewood, NJ 08701. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Carlos' memory to the Eye Openers Organization (Attn George: 349 Shawnee Dr. Brick NJ 08724) and/or the Knight's of Columbus 6962 (St. Anthony Claret Parish, 780 Ocean Ave Lakewood, NJ 08701).
