Carmela Catherine Alvine

Carmela Catherine Alvine, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished family matriarch, passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Born and raised in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Madeline and Carmine Zicaro.

Carmela was predeceased by her husband of nearly 50 years, Donal Alvine, and her sister, Madeline Colatrella. She is lovingly survived by her children, Susan (Alex) and Donal (Stacie); her grandchildren, Frank, Michael (Brittney), Paul (Caroline), Donny, and Jacqueline; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Mackenzy, Reagan, Jaxson, and Isabelle; and her sister, Christine Nisivoccia.

Throughout her life, Carmela was devoted to her family, caring for them with unwavering love and dedication. She also worked as an agent at Liberty Mutual for some years. Above all, she cherished being surrounded by her loved ones, and her presence was the heart of every gathering.

A Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, May 1st , 2026 at 10:00 am at Sacred Heart Church at 751 Main Ave, Bay Head, NJ 08742. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery 62 Cedar Grove Rd, Toms River, NJ 08753.
