

Caroleann Mottola, age 71, of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Caroleann was born November 18, 1949, in Jersey City, NJ as the daughter of Catherine Williams and William Callahan. She was a former resident of Hoboken, Jersey City, and Lake Hopatcong, NJ, prior to moving to Lakewood. She retired from Verizon after 31 years of service as a Long Term Planning Engineer. Caroleann was a member of Habitat for Humanity and enjoyed volunteering at several environmental groups. She also volunteered at several animal shelters.
Predeceased by her husband, "her dear Charlie," her mother and step-father, Catherine and Joseph Barbera; Caroleann is survived by her brother Robert Callahan; two step-brothers, Michael Barbera and his wife Linda and Patrick Barbera and his wife Amy; a step-sister, Diane O'Mealy and her husband Tim; her extended family, Linda and Jim Banta and family, her cousin, Patricia Faquir and her husband Max; and her very dear friends, Connie Bischone, Al and Anita Parinello, Harry and Emily Garrabrant, Linda and Paul McCullough and Elka and Horst Paetzold; and several other cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Relatives and friends will be received on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home. Cremation services were private.
