

Born in Long Branch, he resided in Asbury Park before settling in Lakewood 36 years ago.
Charlie was a graduate of Union Technical Institute, completed the US Coast Guard Boating Skill and Steamship course, and the National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course. He was recently employed by Loori Bus Service. Charlie was also a licensed realtor, an officer of the Hurricane Harbor Yacht Club and a 3rd Degree Knight of the St. Mary of the Lake Knights of Columbus Council 1157. He held many different jobs throughout his life, but was especially proud of being a Class A Master Technician for General Motors.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Bernice Grove.
Surviving are his loving wife of 35 years, Bobbie; grandchildren: Randi Marie, Kayla, and Jeremy Grove; a sister, Terri McDonald; a brother, Ernest Grove and his wife Marie; close friends, the Heidel family; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary of the Lake Church, Lakewood on Friday at 12PM under the direction of D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood. A gathering at the funeral home will be held beforehand at 10AM.
