

Claire Pallito, age 98, of Dover, NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Regency Grande Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Dover, NJ. Claire was born on May 21, 1917 in Newark, NJ, and she was the daughter of the late Anna and Louis D’Autorio. She was raised in Newark, and had been a resident of Jackson, NJ for several years before relocating to Dover, NJ. Claire was a professional seamstress who retired from J & R in Newark. She was an excellent baker of Pinole Nut Cookies. Wife of the late John Pallito; mother of the late Anthony Pallito; and mother-in-law of the late Julie Pallito, she was predeceased by five of her siblings. Claire is survived by her two sons, John Pallito and his wife Lynn, and Louis Pallito and his wife Karen; 4 siblings, Lee Laudisi, Edward D’Autorio, Joseph D’Autorio and his wife Dorothy, and Nancy Forgione and her husband Herk; 7 grandchildren, Karen and her husband Jimmy, Anthony, Scott and his wife Lori, John, Jr. and his wife Dawn, Maria, Deborah and her husband Rob, and Jennifer and her husband Tony; 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery Toms River, NJ.
