Dawn Elizabeth Ferrante

Dawn Elizabeth Ferrante of Toms River died tragically on her 45th birthday, Saturday September 29th 2012 at Helene Fuld Trauma Center Trenton, as a result of injuries sustained as a passenger in a motor vehicle accident.

Born in Lakewood NJ she grew up there, attending Lakewood High School and Ocean County College before moving to Toms River. Dawn was a very hard worker as evidenced by the many jobs she held while also raising her son as a single mother. Most recently she was worked as a patient caregiver while attending OCC Nursing School. She was extremely proud of that accomplishment. She was a very warm, loving and giving person with an infectious smile and a zest for life that will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Dawn leaves behind her loving son Justin; 2 brothers: James Ferrante, and his girlfriend Stacy whom are expecting their first child, Marybeth Katherine this February, and Alan Ferrante Jr. and his girlfriend Sahar; a sister Toni Fredrickson, and her husband Charles and niece Cady Grossman; an aunt Patricia Gundersen, and her husband Dale and their daughter Genelle Gundersen; an uncle Arthur Burns, and his wife Barbara, their daughter Melody and her husband Jesse and their grandsons Brandon and Cameron. Dawn was predeceased by her parents Maryann and Alan Ferrante.

Visitation will be held at D'Elia Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral services will be held at D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood at 8:30am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Justin’s RC Church, Toms River. Interment will immediately follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
