Derek Albert Bowden

Derek Albert Bowden, age 81, of Wyckoff, NJ, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the Centra State Medical Center in Freehold, NJ. He was born on April 15, 1933 in London, England. In the early 1980’s he came to the US, and was a former resident of Ashland, MA before moving to Wyckoff 27 years ago. Derek formerly served in the UK’s Royal Navy. He was an Engineering professional who worked for many years in the UK and the US for Raytheon, before later retiring from IBM. He enjoyed traveling, running, skiing and hiking. He is survived by his wife Karen; a son, Phillip Derek Bowden; and a daughter, Katrina K. Jorgensen and her husband Ben. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be conducted on Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2 PM to 4 PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701.
