

Emily "Doris" Wierzbicki, 96, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026. Born in Freehold on July 21, 1929, Doris lived a long and fulfilling life marked by independence, kindness, and an appreciation for the people and experiences that brought her happiness.
Doris dedicated many years of service to the accounting department at George Chevrolet in Freehold. In retirement, she embraced every opportunity to travel, especially enjoying cruises and exploring new places. She was a longtime active member of the Leisure Village community in Lakewood, where she made many lasting friendships. Doris also loved dancing, adored animals, and never passed up an opportunity to enjoy her favorite treat, ice cream. She was blessed to spend her final years surrounded by comfort and compassionate care at Wellington Estates Assisted Living in Spring Lake.
Doris was predeceased by her husband, Walter Wierzbicki, and her beloved cousin Delphine Kielb.
She is survived by her cousins, Carolyn DeMarco, Anthony DeMarco, Nancy Porcelli, and Barbara Darland, along with extended family and friends who will remember her with love and affection.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at D'Elia Funeral Home with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Ocean County Memorial Park.
Doris will be remembered for her quiet strength, independent spirit, warm smile, and ability to find happiness wherever life took her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
