Born in Lafayette, N.J., she lived there before moving to Lakewood and then to Florida. She moved back to New Jersey settling in Toms River, N.J. While in Florida, she had volunteered at a local hospital gift shop. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lakewood.
Edith loved baking, working in her garden, going to car races, bowling and knitting.
She was a loving wife and mother and will be missed by all who loved her.
She had worked as the administrative assistant to the Vice President at Newton Trust Company from where she retired.
She was pre-deceased by her parents; Sylvester and Daisy Belcher, her husband, Bill in 2001, a sister, Helen and a brother, Fred.
Edith is survived by her sons; Dean and his wife, Lisa Decker and Eric and his wife, Annette Decker, four grandchildren; Jason and his wife, Jessica Decker, Samantha and her husband, Casey Dishman, Jeffrey and his wife, Celeste Decker and Krystal Amorino, two great-grandchildren, Aaron and Emily, and her six siblings; Ida, Mabel, Joan, Sylvester, Kenneth, and Margaret.
A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, N.J. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon at the D'Elia Funeral Home. Interment will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
