Edmund "Lou" Louis Davenport

Edmund "Lou" Louis Davenport, 89, passed away December 12, 2017 at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus. Lou was born and raised in Belleville, NJ. He was a graduate of Rutgers’s University, earning his bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics. Lou was an active member of the Belleville Reformed Church, serving as the past vice president, treasurer and elder. He was also very active in the Pinelands Reformed Church of Toms River for many years. Lou was a member of the Men’s Fellowship organization for many years with the Pinelands Reformed Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle and will be greatly missed by all.

Mr. Davenport is predeceased by his siblings, LeRoy A. Davenport, Jr. and Lillian Stoeckert.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Betty Jane (nee Knodel), three sons, James (Sharon) of Monroe, NJ, Kenneth (Maura) of Weehawken, NJ and Edward (Susan) of Tabernacle, NJ, daughter, Gail (Stephen) Petrosilli of Bordentown, granddaughter, Jennifer (Carlos) Diaz of Newark, NJ, two grandsons, Matthew and Andrew Davenport of Tabernacle, NJ, great granddaughter, Ava Diaz of Newark, NJ and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 3-7PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Service will be held privately with private burial in the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veteran’s Cemetery in Wrightstown, NJ.
