Eileen A. Peters Hodic

Eileen A. Hodic, age 80, of the Lake Ridge community in Toms River, NJ passed away at her residence on Friday, August 10, 2012 surrounded by her loving children. She was born in Bloomfield, NJ on March 20, 1932. Eileen was raised in Bloomfield and graduated from Bloomfield High School. She later resided in East Hanover, NJ for over 30 years, before moving to Lake Ridge 16 years ago. Eileen was a former switchboard operator for NJ Bell Telephone and Nabisco. She was a member of the Lake Ridge singles group and Red Hat Society and volunteered for the Meals on Wheels Program. Wife of the late Rudolph Hodic and sister of the late William Peters, Eileen is survived by her children, Michael W. Hodic and his wife Kathy of Springfield, NJ, Mary Beth Hodic of West Chester, PA, and Maureen Ruff of Florham Park, NJ; a sister-in-law, Cecelia Peters; her grandchildren, Catie, Will and Kylie; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. & 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Cremation will follow privately with inurnment in the parish cemetery at a later date.
