Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Lyon

Born February 15, 1932 in Orange, NJ, the daughter of John and Elizabeth (nee Daly) Slater and was raised in and grew up in both Little Falls and Totowa Borough. She graduated from Passaic Valley High School and the Washington School for Secretaries. She was employed at and retired from American Cyanamid in Wayne, NJ.

Betty raised her family in Kinnelon, NJ. She loved the outdoors and the sea shore. Upon retirement, Betty moved to Lake Ridge community in Toms River, where she enjoyed swimming, going to the beach and spending time with family and friends.

More than anything, Betty loved her family. She is survived by her 5 children: David Lyon (Bob Shaughnessy), Debby O’Rourke (Trip Winne), Valerie Yago (Bill), Judi Edwards (Gary) and Cathy Brown; and 8 grandchildren: Erin, Kelly & Billy Yago, Reece, Kyle & Kimberly Edwards and Bobby & Whitney Brown.
