OBITUARY

Eric John Zumpano

June 13, 1962July 22, 2020

Eric Zumpano, 58-years-old of Jackson, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at his home.

Born June 13, 1962, in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of the late Leonard and Doris (Lauer) Zumpano.

Eric was a 1981 graduate of Madison Central High School in Old Bridge, N.J. and worked as an auto and small machine mechanic, landscaper, and in construction, especially in masonry, for his career. He truly was a hard worker, doing his best to provide for his family. He had many talents and abilities, which were very much appreciated by many, especially his family and friends.

Eric had a love of cars since he was a boy he loved to work on old cars and restore them during his free time. He loved most sports, but especially football, baseball, basketball and NASCAR. Two and his two favorite teams were the NY Giants and the NY Yankees and NASCAR driver, Mark Martin. Whenever these teams were playing you always knew where to find him in front of the TV watching passionately, especially when they were in the playoffs. He also loved to attend live sports events and concerts, especially with his family and friends. Eric had a special love for dogs (especially his rescues), and nothing made him happier then to be at home with his beautiful wife, daughters and the dogs. He was known for many things, his most cherished qualities were his generosity, always being kind-hearted, and he was always willing to help anyone in need. He also enjoyed living in Jackson for almost 23 years, especially working on his home, making it beautiful, and living in a development with such caring neighbors that became his friends.

Surviving are his wife, Maria (Star) Zumpano and daughter Alexandra Zumpano of Jackson, and his daughter, Erika Zumpano and husband, Emanuel Tirado, and granddaughter River of Manheim, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his three sisters, Anne Zumpano (Zechel) and husband Carl Zechel of Rubicon, Wisconsin; Diane Zumpano (Luiken) of Pottsville, Pennsylvania; and Laura Zumpano and Harald Murck of Westfield, New Jersey.

Funeral services have been entrusted to D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue (Corner of Route 70) in Lakewood, New Jersey.
