
Born in Saranac, NY, she was a resident of Toms River for fifty years before relocating to Harrogate in 1996. Mrs. Clouser was a member of the Ocean County Historical Society. She was a former Librarian for the Hugh J. Boyd, Jr. Elementary School in Seaside Heights, NJ, and also was a professional Educator for Lakewood High School and Toms River High School. Ethel was an avid bridge player and had an extensive collection of miniature shoes dating from the 1880’s. Ethel was a voracious reader. Daughter of the late Carrie M. (Johnson) and Chester A. Everleth, she was predeceased by her husband Joseph D. Clouser. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen Clouser and his wife Karen of Toms River and Gary Clouser of Tucson, AZ; a brother, Chester Everleth & his wife Marie of Oldsmar, FL; a sister, Eileen Griggs and her husband Ramon of Lakeland, FL; two grandsons, Brian and his wife Anita and Christopher; a great grandson, Kyan; six nephews, John, Scott, Jeff, and Kevin Griggs, Christopher and Michael Everleth and a niece Melissa Whitehurst. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701.
The funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the Greenville Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ 08701. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ocean County Historical Society, 26 Hadley Ave., Toms River, NJ 08753.
