Frances Garafano

Frances Garafano (nee Vicari) was born in San Giuseppe, Sicily on July 25, 1924. She immigrated to the United States as a child. She married Salvatore in 1947 and became a mother and homemaker at their home in Bloomfield and later Parsippany. After raising children she worked for BASF and retired from Chase Bank. Later she retired with her husband to The Greenbriar Woodlands in Toms River, where they enjoyed playing bridge and many of the other clubhouse activities. Mrs. Garafano is predeceased by her husband Salvatore and a sister Palma Fiorino.Frances is survived by her two children Robert Garafano and his wife Karen and Diane Garafano, four grandchildren, Robert Elliott, Robin and her husband Matt Jenkins, Hannah, and Jordan Garafano, two brothers Charles and Joseph Vicari and one sister Ann Vliet. Friends may call Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 9:15AM at the St. Luke’s Church in Toms River. Interment will take place at Ocean County Memorial Park, in Toms River.
