

Francis Patrick Gill died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014 in St. Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston, N.J. He was 71. Born in Wilkes-Barre, he resided there before moving to Old Bridge, N.J., and finally settling in Lakewood, N.J., 43 years ago.Frank graduated high school from St. Mary's Catholic School in Wilkes-Barre, and received his bachelor's degree in economics at King's College. He went on to complete his master's degree in school administration and supervision at Kean University. Prior to retiring, he was a teacher at Jonas Salk Middle School, Old Bridge, N.J., where he taught for 35 years. During this time, he was also a coach of the Old Bridge High School golf team as well as the adult women's golf team in Old Bridge, N.J. A member of the Lakewood Board of Education from 1985-1991, he served as president from 1988-1989. He also acted as a board member and president of the Coventry Square Condominiums in Lakewood, N.J. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Noreen; a son, Patrick F. Gill and his wife, Sophia, Montville, and their children, Kayla and Patrick; a daughter, Kelly Lee, Brick, her companion, Eric, and her children, Brook and Taylor; two brothers, Robert Gill and his wife, Mari of Berlin, N.J., and his daughters, Yuri Gill and her family and Diana Marsala Gill, who is stationed in Okinawa, Japan; and Brian Gill and his wife, Jane and their children, Maura and Caitlin; a brother-in-law, Patrick Drury and his children, Shawn Drury and Christine Drury and her husband, Tom Grant. Aside from his family, Frank had a love for golf and golf tournaments. He was also a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles. Friends may call at D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, N.J., from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
