Frank was born on June 26, 1930 in Old Bridge, NJ, and he was the son of the late Gertrude and Frank Powell, Sr. He was raised in Old Bridge and had been a resident there for many years before moving to Toms River. Prior to his retirement, Frank was a self employed truck driver who also had worked for Clayton Block, LLC. He was an auto racing fan, and his family will fondly remembered as having an appreciative disposition. He previously served with the South Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department.
Frank is survived by a son, Frank Powell, 3rd; and 3 step children, Albert Russo, Sal Russo, and Denise Kann.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral will immediately follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Shoreland Memorial Gardens, Hazlet, NJ.
