George R. Mitch

Born in Paterson, he resided in Toms River before moving to Pennsylvania 2 years ago.

Prior to retiring in 1990, he was a Manager of Aerospace Contracts and Proposals at Singer/Kerffot Co. in Woodland Park, NJ.

George was a proud alum of Rutgers University and was very involved in the Alumni Association. He was also a top seeded tennis player in Lakeridge in ’05 and ’06, having been an active tennis player throughout his life. George also loved to play golf in his spare time.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary, in 2002; and by his daughter-in-law, Sandy, in 2010.

Surviving are 3 sons: Bradford of Wayne, Randall and his wife Barbara of Manasquan, and Kevin of Thailand; a daughter, Dr. Alison Mitch and her husband Dr. John Michael Heffernan of Wyomissing, PA; and 6 grandchildren: Marysa Mitch-Chiu and her husband David, Ian Mitch, Olivia Heffernan, Ethan Heffernan, Connor Heffernan, and Victoria Mitch.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday at 12PM at St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, Lakewood. Interment will follow at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
