

Born in Brooklyn, he resided in Woodcliff Lake and Rivervale for most of his life before settling in Lakewood 15 years ago.
Prior to retiring at 60, he was the Superintendant of Westwood Cemetery in Westwood, NJ, where he worked for 37 years. He absolutely loved his job. He was also very proud of being the first to integrate the cemetery.
Surviving is his beloved, Janice Kiefer; 2 daughters: Jacqueline Stewart and Sharon Thraves; 3 granddaughters: Darlene, Stephanie and Angelica; 6 great-grandchildren: Danielle, Sabrina, Liam, Aaron, Amelia, and Adelina; a great-great-grandson, Conrad; Janice’s children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters: Barbara Grasek and Dorothy Cormier; and many nieces and nephews. He truly loved all of the children, encouraging them to better themselves and receive an education.
Friends may call at D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, on Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 4-8PM. Interment of cremated remains will be held at the Brigadier General William C.
