Mr. Lucifora was born in Ragusa, Sicily, Italy, immigrating to NJ in 1954. He resided in Fairview, NJ before settling in Howell in 1984.
Giuseppe was a hard worker, employed as a laborer. He took pride in everything he did and was known for being meticulous with any task put before him. He believed in doing things right and to a high standard and never looked for the short cuts. He was insistent on fixing anything himself and self-taught himself many skills as a result. He enjoyed tending to his garden, which often produced beautiful fruits and vegetables.
Giuseppe was very outgoing, personable and generous. He was loving, caring and supportive to all those he loved, yet could be strong, firm and brave as needed. His word held great value and he never made a promise he didn't keep. He created numerous friendships and relationships throughout his lifetime that he held very near and dear to his heart. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved bringing laughter to all those around him. He was known as a fire cracker in our family, often the life of a party.
His pride and joy were his grandchildren and he would do anything for them. He often told them keep moving forward, I will always be behind you. (Tu Vai Avanti, e io saro sempre dietro di te.)
He is predeceased by his wife of 69 years, Santa. He is survived by his daughter, Angela Lucifora, grandchildren, Emanuele "Manny" Scicolone and his partner Christine McGuiness and Michelle Frattaroli and her husband, Louis, great-grandchildren, Michael, Joseph and Gia, his sister, Rosina Russino and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Church of the Madonna, 359 Whiteman Street, Fort Lee, N.J. Entombment will follow at Madonna Cemetery Mausoleum in Fort Lee, N.J.
