Grace Catherine Buskolich Herzig

Grace Catherine Herzig, age 80, of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Friday, February 9, 2017 at the Meridian Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Brick, NJ. Grace was born on March 29, 1936 in Hoboken, NJ, and she was the daughter of the late Anna and Matt Buskolich. After being raised in Hoboken, she was a resident of Ridgewood, NJ, before moving to Lakewood 14 years ago. She retired from Valley Hospital after a career in Nursing. Grace was active in the various Leisure Village East community clubs, and she loved the experience of traveling and tasting good food. Beloved wife of the late Ralph Herzig, and sister of the late Michael and Joseph Buskolich, she is survived by her five children, Marianne Zarillo and her husband Tom, Ralph Herzig and his wife Karen, Michael Herzig, Cathy Wolfe and her husband Carl, and David Herzig and his wife Kirsten; two siblings, Anna Sciarra and her husband Marco and Florence Lisa and her husband Robert; and six grandchildren, James and Elizabeth Herzig, Michael and Emily Wolfe, and Palmer and Will Herzig. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Monday in the St. Justin the Martyr Roman Catholic Church, 975 Fischer Boulevard, Toms River, NJ 08753. Interment will follow in the Laurel Grove Cemetery, 295 Totowa Rd, Totowa, NJ 07512.
