Born in Lakewood, he was a lifelong resident before moving 15 years ago to Jackson, N.J.
He had worked as a school administrator for the Monmouth County Vocational-Technical School District for 37 years before his retirement in 1999.
Robert had been a long time member of the Lakewood Twp. Jr. Hose Company #3.
He was predeceased by his wife, Hilda Soden, in 2019.
Robert is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Teresa Soden and a daughter, Rebeccah Soden.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, February 12, 2021 at the D'Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, N.J. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the D'Elia Funeral Home followed by the interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Lakewood, N.J.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to Monmouth University.
