It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Kowrach, a cherished mother, aunt, and friend. Born in the quiet town of Eynon, Pennsylvania, Helen’s life was a tapestry woven with strength, kindness, and quiet wisdom. She was a longtime resident of North Brunswick, New Jersey, where she built a life grounded in love, family, and community.
Helen is lovingly remembered by her two sons, Stanley (and his wife Lina Ng) and Kenneth (and his wife Annmarie), who were her pride and joy. She shared a deep and special bond with her niece Karen, and thought of Karen’s daughter Theresa and grandson Domnick as her grandchildren, holding them close to her heart.
Helen had a vibrant spirit and a zest for life. She especially loved day trips to Atlantic City, where she enjoyed the thrill of the slot machines and the beauty of the shore. Her days were often filled with bingo, laughter, and sharing coffee with her dear friend Mary—simple moments that brought her happiness and lasting memories.
A gifted cook with an open heart, Helen was famous for her savory hams and indulgent cheesecakes. No matter the hour, if you stepped into her home, you’d find yourself at her kitchen table with a warm meal on the way. Feeding others was her way of showing love—and her cooking will live on in the stories and traditions of those who knew her best.
Helen spent her later years in Leisure Village, Lakewood, New Jersey, where she found community and companionship. Always eager to connect and contribute, she became active in many clubs, sharing her warmth, humor, and stories with newfound friends.
And Helen always had something to say—usually with a healthy dose of sarcasm that could disarm or delight in equal measure. Her quick comebacks and wry humor were unforgettable, leaving no conversation without a clever remark or knowing smile.
We are deeply thankful for the caregivers whose compassion and devotion brought comfort and dignity to Helen in her final days. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched, and her memory will continue to bring warmth and comfort to her family and friends. We are so thankful for the caregivers and their devotion that they gave here.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Lakewood, New Jersey Rescue Squad in Helen's honor.
