

Born in the Lower East Side in Manhattan, he resided in Rutherford before settling in the Lake Ridge community of Toms River 19 years ago.
Prior to retiring in 1991, Jack was a route salesman for Pechter’s Bakery, where he worked for 30 years.
Jack was active in his community as a member of the Lake Ridge Men’s Club and the Chorus. He also loved to play bocce and was an avid bowler. Jack also played basketball for the SPHA, where he played against the Harlem Globetrotters.
Surviving is his loving wife of 42 years, Betty Ann; a daughter, Karen Amacio of Brooklyn; a son, Allan Stein and his wife Denise of Brooklyn; 3 grandchildren: Theresa Amacio, Nicole Apman, and Marc Stein; a great-granddaughter, Celeste Apman; a brother, Emanuel Stein; and a niece and nephew: Lynn Meadows and Dean Stein.
