

Janet Brown Kuschuk, 83 of Toms River, previously of Freehold NJ and Elizabeth NJ, passed away after a battle with illness at Community Medical Center. She is predeceased by her parents, Herbert Jay Brown and Anna Bernstein Brown of Elizabeth and her brother, Robert A Brown from Highland Park, Illinois. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Herbert Kuschuk and daughters, Ilene Murphy of Crofton, MD and her husband Thomas Murphy, and Sandra Kuschuk of Freehold, NJ. Janet’s two granddaughters, Rebecca and Nicole Murphy both also reside in Crofton.
Janet was a 1961 graduate of Douglass College in New Brunswick NJ. Upon her graduation, she became a French Teacher in the Freehold Regional and Old Bridge Township School Districts for 25 + years. After retirement, she became a beloved Line Dance Teacher at Lake Ridge and surrounding communities in the Toms River area. Janet loved Game Shows, Teaching, the Yankees and her Family. Her humor and quick wit will be missed by everyone who knew her. She had many treasured friends in her community and always spoke highly of them.
A Celebration for Janet will be held at the D’Elia Funeral Home on Route 70 in Lakewood, New Jersey on Sunday November 20 from 12 to 4. Light refreshments will be provided while sharing stories of Janet. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the American Heart Association in her memory.
