Jerry grew up doing the normal young boy things: riding his bike all over the neighborhood and along the Jersey Shore, in the summers, where he had great memories. One of his favorite things to do was to visit his father and uncles at Bloomingdale’s Dairy in Newark. He also worked there in the summers. This memory inspired him to collect milk bottles later on in life.
Jerry graduated from Weequahic High School in Newark, NJ, where he played football and ran track. Jerry was happiest when he was spending time with his wife, Addie; they were married for 46 years. They enjoyed traveling, going out with friends, playing golf (he was a member of Lakewood Country Club), and becoming Florida snowbirds.
He leaves behind his best friend and wife, Addie. Jerry loved his children so much. Harris Max and his wife Lynn, Jaimee Max and her companion Charlie, and Nycole (Max) Hershkowitz and her husband Brian. His heart beamed when he spoke of his seven grandchildren: Brielle, Sage, Jared, Gavin, Jasmine, Hannah, and Ingrid. He also leaves behind his sister, Vicki Kurinsky.
Jerry loved taking family and friends out on his boat. After a day on the water, friends would enjoy a bar-b-que at the house. He would send everyone home with a bag of tomatoes from his garden.
Besides his children and grandchildren, he had so much to be proud of. He had a few cleaning services, but his greatest professional accomplishment was the creation of Federal Cleaning Contractors. With a bucket and a wand, he grew the business to such a success. He not only covered the State of NJ, but also serviced businesses in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New York. In fact, his friends would often tease him and say, ...…yes, Jerry, we know you cleaned that office, and that store…". Later in life, Jerry loved transporting patients as a driver for Multi-Care Medical Transportation.
Jerry certainly knew how to fill in the blank in his life's journey.
