Joan R. McCarthy

Born and raised in New York, NY; she resided in Lakewood for the last 56 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Kenneth of 61 years in 2007. She is the loving mother of Kenneth McCarthy Jr. of Lakewood, William McCarthy of Brick, and Luann Pomaro of Manahawkin, dear sister of Lillian Brandt of Lakewood, Miriam Murphy of Ashville, NC; and cherished “Nanny” of Jayson McCarthy, Tina Pomaro, Phil Pomaro, Crystal Pomaro, and Nick Pomaro, and 10 great grandchildren Alyssa, Coral, Kelly, Sierra, Kylee, Gavyn, Savannah, Dylan, Mason and Casey. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at D’Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 and Vermont Ave; Lakewood. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30am Wednesday at St. Mary of the Lake R.C. Church, Lakewood, with burial to follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery Lakewood, NJ.
