

Joan A. Pearlman, age 78, of the Four Seasons community of Lakewood, NJ, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2012 at her residence under hospice care. Joan was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 4, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Herman and Hilda Goldstein. She was raised and lived in Brooklyn, NY until relocating to Greensboro, NC in 1959. She lived in Greensboro until moving to Lakewood in 1998. Joan graduated with a master’s degree in Theater from U.N.C. Greensboro . Throughout her life she was active in community theaters in the Greensboro and Lakewood areas. She was also a former eligibility specialist for the Greensboro Department of Social Services. Wife of the late Elliot Pearlman, she is survived by her children, Joseph Pearlman of Charlotte, NC and William G. Pearlman and his wife Connie of Roanoke, VA; a brother, Nathan Goldstein of Atlanta, GA; 3 step-grandchildren, Whitney Funk, Brandon Funk and his wife Natalie DiFusco-Funk, and Jamie Gordon and her husband Artis; and a step-great-grandchild, Nathan Funk.Graveside funeral services will be conducted in the Greensboro Hebrew Cemetery in Greensboro, NC. NJ arrangements were by D’Elia Funeral Home of Lakewood, NJ. NC arrangements are being completed by the Lambeth Troxler Funeral & Cremation Services, 300 West Wendover Ave., Greensboro, NC 27408.
