Joan C. Glynn Walsh

Joan Catherine Walsh, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Palm Bay, FL, on Thursday, March 21, 2013, surrounded by her family. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on September 23, 1930, and was the daughter of the late Rose and Joseph Glynn. Joan was a lifelong resident of New Jersey before moving to Florida in 2006, where she lived with her daughter Kerry Treshock and her two grandson’s Sean and Kyle Treshock. Joan was an active parishioner of the Saint Mary of the Lake parish for more than three decades. Joan worked in the banking and financial profession for more than 40 years, where she was a driving force in regulatory and policy issues. She was a former Senior Vice President of Operations of the First State Bank in Howell, NJ, before retiring in 1993 after 25 years of service. Joan was an avid poker player, who enjoyed travelling, entertaining family and friends, and the NYC theatre. Joan is survived by her four children, Cathy Clifton of MI; Kerry Treshock of Palm Bay, FL, Dennis Walsh of Toms River, NJ and FL, and Patti DeChellis of OH; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Her memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Saturday April 27, 2013 in the St. Mary of the Lake RC Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of the D’Elia Funeral Home of Lakewood. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Joan C.
