John Novak

John Novak, 95, passed away November 20, 2016 at the Harrogate Health Care Center in Lakewood. Mr. Novak was born in Fairview, NJ to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Maria Novak. He served as a member of Old Hickory in the US Army during World War II, specifically at Omaha Beach. John also served as the Chief of the New Milford Fire Department. He worked as the superintendent of Building and Grounds for the Englewood School System for many years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Novak is predeceased by his wife Shirley Margaret Novak and daughter-in-law, Sharon Marie Novak. John is survived by his children, John T. Novak and Patricia Bradley and her husband Martin, grandchildren, Heather De Robertis and her husband Eugene, Kelly Hashway and her husband Ryan, Steven Novak and his wife Greer and Allison Porter and her husband John; and two great grandchildren. Arrangements are under the direction of the D’Elia Funeral Home 1300 Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Cremation will be held privately.
