June 4, 1945 – August 1, 2026
With heavy hearts, yet grateful for a life so beautifully lived, we celebrate the life of Jose A. Marrero, who peacefully entered into the presence of the Lord on August 1, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on June 4, 1945, in Lajas, Puerto Rico, Jose lived a life marked by humility, kindness, and an enduring love for his family.
Lovingly known by some as Tony, by his children as Papi, and by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Papa, Jose was the heart of his family. He was known for his warm smile, his humble spirit, and the quiet dignity with which he carried himself. He had a naturally handsome presence that reflected the kindness within. Those who knew him best will remember not only his smile, but his patience, compassion, and the unconditional love he had for his family.
One of the greatest blessings of Jose’s life was the love he shared with his beloved wife, Sara, with whom he built a beautiful life centered on love, commitment, and family. Though Sara preceded him in passing, the love they shared remained a lasting example to all who knew them.
Family was Jose’s greatest joy. His happiest moments were those spent surrounded by the people he loved—sharing stories, laughter, meals, and creating memories that will be treasured for generations. His life was a testament to the quiet strength found in humility, the joy of loving others well, and the lasting impact of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Jose is lovingly survived by his three children, Nelly, Laly, and Jose; his nine grandchildren: Luis Jr., Kiani, Kessiarel, Janai, Antonio, Christy, Sianai, Nixon Jr., and Frankie; and his fifteen great-grandchildren, with the joyful anticipation of welcoming two more great-grandchildren into the family.
Though our hearts grieve his absence, we find comfort in God’s promise of eternal life and rejoice in knowing that Jose now rests in perfect peace, reunited with his beloved Sara. His gentle spirit, loving heart, and warm smile will continue to shine through the lives of those he loved. His memory will forever bring comfort, love, and light to his family.
“Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
Forever loved. Forever remembered. Forever in our hearts.
