Joseph Richard Fraher

Born in Brooklyn, Joe was a resident of Brooklyn and Queens before relocating to Lakewood 39 years ago. He served in the US Army. Joe retired as a director in 2001, after working with the Metro North Commuter Railroad for over 14 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. As a beloved father and grandfather, he will be dearly missed by his family. Husband of the late Nora P. Fraher, he is survived by 3 children, Joseph, Richard, and Patricia; a brother Ronald; 7 grandchildren, Joseph, Michael, David, Beth, Cynthia, Jason and Jessica; and 2 great- grandchildren, Brianna & Mikaela. Visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Route 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701, followed by interment in the parish cemetery.
