Joseph John Goggin

Joseph John Goggin, age 90, of Toms River, NJ, passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2012, at his residence. Born in Lyndhurst, NJ, he was a 42 year resident of Paramus, NJ, before moving to Toms River, NJ in 1994. Joseph was a US Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of the V.F.W. He was a career public servant of Paramus, NJ that included previously serving as town councilman, planning board member, police and fire commissioner. He was a longtime communicant of Our Lady of Visitation Church in Paramus. Joseph was member and P.E.R. for the B.P.O.E. #2001 in Paramus. He was a valued member of the Hackensack Golf Club. Joseph is survived by beloved wife of 65 years, Rose; 2 sons, Brian & (Fran) of Paramus, NJ and Kevin & (Amy) of Washingtonville, NY; a sister Joan Fisher of Florida; 4 grandchildren, Megan, Joseph, K.J. and Jessica. Visitation will be Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Visitation Church, 234 Fairview Ave., Paramus, NJ 07562. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus, NJ.
