

Joseph Kolomick, 88, of Lakewood, NJ passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Manhattan, NY before moving to Great Neck and then Port Washington. Enlisting in the US Navy at the age of 17, he was a veteran of WWII having served from 1942- 1945 in both the European and Pacific theaters. After many years of hard work he later went on to retire from Gotham Corp. Generous and kind hearted, he loved nature, fishing, traveling, and cherished his time spent with his grandson as they were always on the road enjoying an adventure.
He was predeceased by his parents, Anthony and Elizabeth, his beloved wife, June, his sister, Olga, and brothers, Alex, Anthony, John, Michael, Paul, William, and Zachary.
He is survived by his dear companion of 27 years, Elaine, his daughters Linda (William) and Joyce (Karl), grandchildren Jason (Courtney) and Lauren (Nicholas), his sisters Annie, Mary and Theresa, his brother, Peter, and his great granddaughter, Reese.
Visitation will be at D'Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 Lakewood, NJ on November 18 between 9-11AM. Interment to follow at 2pm at Naussau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warriors Project.
