

Julia D’Agostino, age 95, of Lakewood, NJ passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at her residence. She was born on July 23, 1919 in Brooklyn, NY, and was the daughter of Louise and Joseph Martin. Julia was a former resident of Uniondale, L.I.-NY before moving to Lakewood 24 years ago. Julia was active in the Original Leisure Village Clubs including: Singles, Italian Americans, Irish Americans, Bocce, and Latin Club. She was known as the “50 50 Lady by those in her community. Julia was a communicant of the St. Mary of the Lake Parish. Julia was the wife of the late Salvatore D’Agostino who passed in 1985; the sister of the late Edna Martin and the grandmother of the late Tina D’Agostino. She is survived by her son, John D’Agostino and his wife Teresa of Columbus, OH; a daughter, Colette Posillico of West Chester, PA; 8 grandchildren, John D’Agostino, Amanda Ceneviva and her husband Dan, Michelle Koval and her husband Jonathan, Ashley D’Agostino, Eric Posillico, James Posillico, David Posillico, and Anne Posillico; and 2 sisters, Florence Brustman of Brick, NJ and Eleanor DiIorio and her husband Angelo of Brooklyn. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Her funeral mass will be celebrated 12:00 p.m. Saturday in the St. Mary of the Lake Church, 43 Madison Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Following the mass, Julia will be cremated privately and later laid to rest in St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
