Lelia Jean holds a special place in my heart. I so admired her charm, her talent, her sense of humor and her contagious smile. As her younger cousin I looked forward to getting her hand-me-downs...beautiful dresses and sweaters and skirts from my stylish role model. When I was just 14, Lelia Jean was my “glam squad” doing my hair and makeup for my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding. She was always there to quietly volunteer her services and provide support. In later years, while my Mom , her Aunt Tess, was in a nursing home, Lelia Jean would bring her hair styling tools and pamper Mom with a wash, trim, set, and style, while lighting up the room with her joyful presence. Her Aunt Tess adored her.
Leila Jean had that impish smile that made you feel like she was sharing a funny secret with you. It was disarming. That look is indelible in my mind.
To all who loved her, my sympathy for your loss.

Lelia was a beautiful and kind person. I remember her doting on her grandchildren. I saw her often at Jeff & Beth’s home, where my family was always included in holidays and celebrations. She always looked so glamorous. May her family always remember her with love and comfort. She was lucky to have such a devoted son & daughter-in-law. May she rest in peace.
