Lila May Straut Brooks, age 86, was born in Ramsey, NJ to George J. and Viola M. Straut, and attended the Ramsey Public Schools. Her brother Frederick G. and a step-sister Gergiana Kelly Canning predeceased her.
In 1999 she and her husband Emory L. Brooks moved from Ramsey to Lakewood. Upon his death in 2003, she moved to Seabrook Village in Tinton Falls.
A son Randy K. predeceased her in 2004.
Surviving children include a daughter and son-in-law, Donna L and Kimber Webb of Salt Lake City, Utah; a son and daughter-in-law Davic C. and Susanna Brooks of Vero Beach, Florida; and another son Jeffrey and his wife Bernadette of Harriman, New York. She leaves 5 grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service10 a.m. Wednesday at Union Cemetery in Ramsey.
D'Elia Funeral Home in Lakewood is in charge of arrangements.
