Lillian Evans, 91, passed away February 11, 2014 at her home in Lakewood. Mrs. Evans was born in Newark, moving to Gladstone Peapack, NJ and spent most of her life in Maplewood, NJ before settling in Lakewood, NJ for the past 17 years. She worked for Durkee Foods for many years as a quality control technician. Lillian was an avid gardener. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister and will be greatly missed by all. Mrs. Evans is predeceased by her husband Leonard Evans. Lillian is survived by her children, Leonard Evans, Patricia Tackett and Wesley Evans, grandchildren, Heather, Craig, Lenny Jr., Deleen and Thad, great grandchildren, Elizabeth, Emily, Aidan and Gaby, a sister Marie Wachter and a brother Benny Mongiovi. Friends may call Saturday, February 15, 2014 from 11am -12pm at the D’Elia Funeral Home Rt. 70 & Vermont Ave. Lakewood, NJ 08701. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
