Luis was born on February 23, 1947 in Utuado, Puerto Rico. After being raised in Puerto Rico, Luis was a resident of New York City before moving to Ocean County 40 years ago.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Brenda C. Gonzalez; 3 children, Luis Manuel Gonzalez, Jr., Linet Evans, and Jemin Gonzalez; his siblings, Carlos, Danny, Tonio, John, Johnnie, Nellie, Lydia, Mary Lou, Blanca, Cordorano, Ivan; his grandchildren, Kelly, Kalisha, Kadeem, Chelsea, Pierre, Farrah, Raquel; and a host of other family and beloved friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday 11-12 PM at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Ave., Lakewood, NJ 08701. His funeral service will immediately follow the visitation. Cremation will be private.
