Maria Teresa Ruiz

Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, she came to the US in 1953 and settled in Lakewood 45 years ago.

Prior to retiring, Maria was a Case Worker for the Board of Social Service in Lakewood. She was also a parishioner and original member of St. Anthony Claret RC Church in Lakewood where she acted as a Eucharistic Minister.

She was predeceased by her loving husband, Federico in March 2009; 2 sons: Frank in December 1997 and Ralph in April 1976; and 2 brothers: Francisco and Wilfredo.

Surviving is her son, Anthony; 2 granddaughters: Yesenia and her husband Tim, and Isabella; 2 great-grandchildren: Sonia and Derek; and 2 brothers: Joe and his wife Gayle and Elias and his wife Alice.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday at 10AM at St. Anthony Claret RC Church, Lakewood. Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood.
