

MARILYN A. HANSEN (nee Eisberg), born February 9, 1930 in Weehawken, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, Nana, great-Nana, and aunt passed away at home on February 24, 2013. Marilyn lived in Union City, West New York, Carlstadt and Jersey City before moving to Toms River in 2002 where she resided with her daughter, Linda, and her family.
Marilyn was an assistant chef at Caughery’s Pine Room for 23 years before retiring. Marilyn was predeceased by parents, Ellanora and August Eisberg, husband, William T. Hansen, Jr., son Russell C. Hansen, and sisters Ella Lauer Werner, Gertrude Lauer Schmidt, and Joan Eisberg Jamin. Marilyn is survived by son, William J. Hansen, Sr., and wife Cecilia, daughter, Linda S. Bender and husband Robert of Toms River, and sister Carol Eisberg Lucrezi and husband Rudolph. Marilyn has 6 grandchildren: Cathy-Lynn Cancel and husband Adrian, William J. Hansen, Jr., and wife Stephanie, Amanda M. Hansen, Christina L. Hansen, Courtney M. Hansen, and Robert W. Bender. Marilyn has 2 great-granddaughters: Elizabeth A. Cancel and Gwendelyn M. Hansen. Marilyn also has many loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects to Marilyn at D’Elia Funeral Home, Rte. 70 & Vermont Ave., Lakewood on Wednesday from 2-9PM. Services will be held on Thursday at 11:15AM at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Weehawken Cemetery, North Bergen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Marilyn’s name to Van Dyke Hospice, 99 Rte. 37 W, Toms River, NJ 08755 and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl., Memphis, TN 38105.
