Born on April 2, 1930, in Manhattan, NY, she grew up on Staten Island with parents Peter and Helen Thompson.
Mary was a beacon of warmth and kindness. Her unwavering faith and resilience inspired everyone who knew her. She found joy in simple pleasures: spending time with family and friends, taking rides by the beach, and tending to her garden. Her love for camping trips in the Poconos, knitting, crocheting, and cooking for loved ones left lasting memories. Mary had a playful spirit. She delighted in playing hide and seek with her grandkids, sharing laughter as they searched for her clever hiding spots in plain sight.
Mary Leahy is survived by her daughter, Melissa Mclean, and her grandchildren: Kerri Dwyer, Thomas Dwyer, and Michael (Jackie) Dwyer. Her great-grandchildren, Joseph and Deon Dwyer, brought her immense joy. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who cherished her.
Mary now rests in a place where “spring is around the corner” always. May her memory continue to bloom like the flowers she so lovingly tended.
