Melvin Robert Sharpe

Melvin Robert Sharpe, 29, passed away October 20, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM. Mr. Sharpe was born in Long Branch, raised in Lakewood and attended Manchester Schools before attending Ocean County College where he earned his associates in both Physical Therapy and Law Enforcement. Melvin worked as a physical trainer at LA Fitness in Toms River and most recently as a Corrections Officer for the Torrance County Detention Facility in New Mexico. He enjoyed weightlifting, football, track, running, and hiking and was an avid Tennessee Titans fan. He was a loving son and brother and will be greatly missed by all. Mr. Sharpe is predeceased by his grandparents, Cabbot and Fannie Ricketts and Robert and Charlotte Heyward, aunt, Dorothy Moye and uncles, Clinton Sharpe and Joe Cross. Melvin is survived by his parents, Linda and Melvin Sharpe, sister, Melinda Sharpe, fiancée, Wendy Wernke and a host of many other loving relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 9-11am at the Calvary Lighthouse Church in Lakewood, NJ. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at the Calvary Lighthouse Church in Lakewood, NJ. Interment will take place at Monmouth Memorial Park, in Tinton Falls, NJ.
