Norman Steven Pearson, age 67, of Lakewood, passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune, NJ. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on May 26, 1946, and he was the son of the late Ella Olivia and Walter R. Pearson. Norman was a 29 year resident of Jackson, NJ, before moving to Lakewood 10 years ago. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of Vietnam and a friend to various Disabled American Veterans organizations. He retired from a career of over 35 years in H.V.A.C. services, and had been employed with Gerdau Steel in Sayreville, NJ. Norman enjoyed music and playing the guitar. He was a cooking, boating, and motorcycle riding enthusiast. Norman particularly loved to spend time with his grandchildren and his entire family. Norman is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Sina; 5 children, William S. Pearson and his wife Michele, Donald L. Pearson and his wife Alana Wesley S. Pearson and his wife Jennifer, Sandra L. Pearson, and Rebecca Di Matteo and her husband Giovanni; 4 sisters, Arlene, Norma, Ingrid, and Carol Rich; and 5 grandchildren, Kyra, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Jillian, and Dominic; and a future grandson Everett arriving in June. Visitation will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the D’Elia Funeral Home, 1300 Vermont Avenue, Lakewood, NJ 08701. Services celebrating his life will be offered during the visitation. Cremation will follow privately.

Dear Pearson Family,

I am truly sorry to hear of the loss of your husband and father. My heart goes out to your family in your time of grief.

I have known Norman for many years as he is a friend of my father. Norman was a kind and lovely person. I feel blessed to have known him and have fond memories of him being part of my family's lives. He will be missed my many.
